Public Works Department

Responsibilities

The Public Works Department is primarily responsible for the condition of the city's infrastructure. The department's responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and repairing sidewalks and streets, including potholes, and controlling traffic
• Maintaining storm drainage systems
• Maintaining the cemetery
• Operating and maintaining the wastewater treatment facility and collection system
• Operating and maintaining the city's water treatment and distribution system
• Providing brush removal and other special trash collection events
• Repairing and maintaining airport facilities
• Repairing and maintaining park facilities, including the swimming pool, parks buildings and landscaping
